The Spider

“Itsy bitsy… come and ride.” New work for Gröna Lund – “The Spider”. A full CGI film, directed, designed, produced, and animated by Filmic Animation – crafted entirely without AI. Just careful hand animation and choreography, where every movement had to align perfectly between camera and our tiny dancing spider. Released broadly for the upcoming spring opening of the park – also in cinemas! A big part of the process was character design.

Together with Parks & Resorts, we searched for that delicate balance – cute, yet slightly creepy. The solution? More human-like movement patterns, letting some legs stay still like a ballerina skirt or silhouette, while others took on the role of arms and legs. Cute, right? A wonderful project, a fun client. Always a joy working with ideas that are truly made for animation.
